Adriano Zumbo Winter Collection 2010
If you want to treat your taste buds to a whimsical journey, there is no better place to go than Adriano Zumbo‘s patisserie.
What he is most well known for are his wacky flavoured macarons, trust me, just reading the list of flavours will get you questioning; how is it possible? The thing is, you either love it or hate it, it just seems like there is something for everyone.
Zumbo releases a new collection every season, behold~

8 of the possible 11 flavours, you can imagine how amusing it would be just trying all that one morning. When I buy macarons, I usually buy 1 or 2 of each flavour and divide between the bf and my sisters, so we all get a sample each. We like to play ‘guess the flavour’ with macarons, but when it comes to Zumbo’s macarons, it’s a little challenging considering the different flavours packed into one. The highlight of this collection for me is, the Salted peanut caramel; I’ve had a few of these by different pattisiere’s and I would say this is the best by far. It is closely followed by the Pumpkin & orange risotto, I’m amused with the hint of pumpkin!
The least favourite? The kalamata olive & bergamot candy – at first I kept thinking its just kalamata olive until I bit into a hard surface, then realized there was like a piece of hard candy in between. The kalamata olive alone was wacky enough, then you have the bergamot candy, the flavour is hard to describe… something you have to try yourself! Though, I know people who love this flavour, just not for me.
I really wanted to try the Beetroot one, but pity that it ran out the day we went. Guess I’ll be due in for another visit before winter ends? And will pick up some of his other patisserie while I’m at it
