Cheeky Chocolate, North Strathfield

About a month ago, my friend had told me that a new chocolate cafe opened up in the busy strip of restaurants of North Strathfield, called ‘Cheeky Chocolate’. We initially thought it was opened up by Adriano Zumbo, but in fact he is the mastermind behind their creative menu! (We know Zumbo is a genius in dessert chemistry!)

Stepping into Cheeky Chocolate, not only are you greeted with different chocolate cakes and desserts at the counter.. but an awesome Vintage/Victorian atmosphere. Lots of hanging chandeliers, mismatched wooden chairs, sofas and tables; definitely a cosy environment to catch up with friends in over dessert and/or drinks!

I didn’t get to try any of these cakes! Because I had my mind set on the dine in dessert menu..

Ice Mocha

Chai Latte

They haven’t had their grand opening at the time, which I guess explains why they didn’t have everything on the dessert menu.

We ordered (above) ; Read my Lips or Kiss my Cheeks ($18) – Cheeky chocolate Sundae with Honey comb crème chantilly, peanut caramel, raspberry gel and banana gelato topped with Cheeky chocolate sauce.

There was a lot of flavours happening in this one as you can tell from the above list! Fortunately the flavours went well together; it wasn’t overly sweet with the sourness of the raspberry gel to balance it out. The only let down is that the banana gelato was a little soft otherwise it would be perfect.

Will You Pash or Dash ($18)Chocolate fondant with passion fruit centre, toasted white chocolate & orange soaked pineapple

I loved the chocolate fondant as it bursted out with passionfruit and pineapple, definitely the best bit of the dessert! I wasn’t too fond of the hazelnut ice cream, it was soft and icy which is a pity.

We were quite stuffed and almost hit a sugar coma after sharing two desserts between us; so I would recommend sharing a dessert.

Great atmosphere, great flavours – the only let down was that they didn’t have everything on the menu, and their servings of ice cream were soft :( . My friends haven’t experienced soft ice cream when they visited, so I’m guessing it could be because I went before their closing time, and unlucky.

It is on par with the prices of Guylian Cafe, expensive or not, you can decide on that one.

I’d definitely be back to check out the other desserts on the menu, and hoping they will be available and no cases of soft ice cream :(

Love it when a new dessert place opens up! Means another place to go late at night.. :) There are several more dessert places I have yet to check out on my wishlist! Stayed tuned ~
